About Our League

The Gulf Coast Women’s Golf Association’s objective is to facilitate friendly competitive golf among women from golf clubs in the area and to provide recognition of achievements. The Association was founded in 1976 by six clubs: Foxfire Golf Club, Conquistador Bay CC, Palm Aire of Sarasota, Bent Tree Golf Club , Country Club of Sarasota and North Port Country Club.  In 1977 the Stableford Point System was introduced.

In 1979, The Meadows CC, TPC and Myakka Pines were added. CC of Sarasota changes name to TPC Prestencia in 1984. River Wilderness joined in 1989 and Waterford joined in 1992. In 1996 Laurel Oak and University Park were added.

For the 2023-24 season, there are 12 clubs and 14 teams with 112 players participating in each competition. The season starts in October and runs through April.
