Champions Course Hole #2: the road behind the green is deemed to be out of bound.  Should a ball continue across the road onto the area on or around the 3rdtee, the ball is still out of bounds as it has crossed a property boundary.

Champions Course Hole #3: the road to the left of the tee is deemed to be out of bounds, up to the white stake which then ties into the penalty area that surrounds the pond.

Champions Course Hole #8 & #9: a ball coming to rest right of the cart path that continues around and behind the 9th green is considered out of bounds.

Lakes Course Hole #9: a ball coming to rest left of the sidewalk is considered out of bounds.

Lakes Course Hole #14: the residential wall / monument is considered a boundary wall and not an immoveable obstruction.  A ball lying against the boundary wall is considered in-bounds, and must be played as it lie, or relief may be taken as an unplayable lie under penalty of one-stroke not nearer the hole.

Lakes Course Hole #14 & #15: a ball coming to rest right of the sidewalk is considered out of bounds.

PLANTED AREAS NEWLY LAID SOD: Planted areas such as flower beds or any newly laid sod are treated as “Ground Under Repair”.  Free relief must be taken at the nearest point of relief no closer to hole.

GROUND UNDER REPAIR: is any area through the green marked with a white circle.  A player may take free relief by marking, lifting and dropping a ball within one-club length, no nearer to the hole, at the nearest point of relief.

EMBEDDED BALL RULE: is in effect through the green.  The player may mark, lift and drop the ball without penalty within one-club length of and not nearer the hole than the nearest point of relief.

IMMOVEABLE OBSTRUCTIONS: are considered when a ball lies in or on the obstruction, or when the obstruction interferes with the player’s stance or area of intended swing.  The Player may take relief without penalty one-club length from the nearest point of relief not nearer the hole.  

IMMOVEABLE OBSTRUCTIONS CLOSE TO PUTTING GREEN (Sprinkler Heads):

Under Appendix 1 – Local Rules: Conditions of the Competition (4a) states: relief from interference by an immoveable obstruction may be taken without penalty under Rule 24 – 2; if a ball lies through the green and an immovable obstruction is within two (2) club-lengths of the ball and intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may take relief by lifting and dropping the ball at the nearest point to where the ball lay that (a) is not nearer the hole (b) avoids intervention and (c) is not in a hazard or on a putting green.

OUT OF BOUNDS: is determined by the inside edged of white stakes, lines or posts.  If any part of a ball is lying in bounds the ball is deemed to be “in bounds” and the ball is in play.  Out of Bounds markers are not considered immoveable obstructions and may not be removed if they interfere with a player’s stance or swing.

LATERAL WATER HAZARDS: are defined by red lines, stakes or posts.  Under penalty of one (1) stroke – a ball coming to rest in a lateral water hazard may be dropped not nearer the hole and within two (2) club lengths of where the ball last crossed the margin of the hazard; on the opposite margin of the hazard, or keeping the point where the ball last crossed the margin of the hazard between you and the hole.  If any part of the ball touches the red line or is inside the margin of the stake or post, that ball is considered to be in the hazard and grounding of the club is prohibited.  Red stakes or posts are consider moveable obstructions and maybe removed without penalty.

WATER HAZARDS: are defined by yellow lines, stakes or posts. Under penalty of one (1) stroke a ball coming to rest in a water hazard may proceed under the stroke and distance provision by playing a ball as nearly as possible at the spot from which the original ball was last played or drop a ball behind the water hazard, keeping the point at which the original ball last crossed the margin of the water hazard directly between the hole and the spot on which the ball is dropped, with no limit to how far behind the water hazard the ball may be dropped.

STONES IN BUNKERS: are moveable obstructions and maybe removed without penalty.  If upon moving a stone in a bunker and that causes your ball to move, the ball must be replaced.  If the ball lies on a stone, the ball may be lifted and dropped without penalty in the bunker as near as possible to where the stone has been removed. 

RAKES IN BUNKERS: Palm Aire request that rakes be placed in our bunkers teeth down and the head facing the center of the bunker with the handle sticking out of the bunker.  If a ball comes to rest against the handle or head of a rake; the player is allowed to pick up the rake, if the players ball moves the player may replace the ball in its original position not nearer the hole under no penalty as the rake is considered a “moveable obstruction”.
